Foliar Thidiazuron Promotes the Growth of Axillary Buds in Strawberry

Strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) can be easily propagated with daughter plants or through crown division, which are developed from the axillary bud at axils of leaves. This study was conducted to investigate effects different cytokinins, auxins, and their combinations on growth in strawberry. Four cytokinins (6-benzyladenine, kinetin, zeatin, thidiazuron (TDZ)) three auxins (indole-3-acetic acid, indole-3-butyric naphthaleneacetic acid) a concentration 50 mg·L?1 were sprayed leaves times 10-day intervals. The expression levels cytokinin, auxin, meristem-related genes crowns also investigated. results showed that TDZ most effective hormone for growth, promoted plant growth. However, chlorophyll, soluble sugar, starch contents lower after TDZ. activated cytokinin signal transduction pathway, while repressing auxin synthesis genes. Several transcription factors upregulated, might essential buds. These suggested improve cultivation strawberry, further research is needed explain effect phytochemistry.
